Saturday October 22, 2011

Today was a beautiful autumn day for the community clean-up of the lower section of Turkey Branch.  We found a large lump of junk near the channel where Turkey Branch flows into Rock Creek.

Upon close inspection, this pile of junk was formed by a shopping cart!

We found a lot of trash!

The invasive Porcelain Berries vines were ripening.

And the progression of down-cutting erosion was very evident.

All lot of trash was collected and we saw some of natural wonders of Turkey Branch, such as this lichen

and even some gold!
