Ordered seeds for four native plant species [approved by the Maryland Department of Natural Resources and Montgomery County]. These seeds will be germinated in my greenhouse. These include:
1. Lobelia cardinalis, Cardinal Flower
2. Sorghastrum nutans, Indian Grass
3. Chasmanthium latifolium (Uniola), Inland Sea Oats
4. Hydrangea arborescens, Wild Hydrangea (shrub)
I also ordered some Allegheny Pachysandra roots (Pachysandra procumbens), another plant species native to southern Maryland. These seeds and plants will be cultivated and planted along Turkey Branch in order to restore native species and to slow erosion.
